You do not need to freeze before packing. But you can. The o2's normally prevent the growth of insects etc, if your food is packed asap( aka dont let it sit outside for 3 months). We have a series of films showing how to freeze. Heat- we also have a series of films that show LTS items after 15 yrs of storage in high heat. We also show indoor storage of incorrectly packed food that was only 3 years old. They are all titled "LTS results" on our channel.

I have some questions, but 1st--thanks for posting the vids. Whole grains/rice, & flour can have insect eggs, I was told to freeze 48-72 hrs B 4 packing to kill eggs. Have U noticed problems with insects during L.T. storage? Heat--I lack enough space indoors to store, what can I do to store outside/shed/garage when it hits 108F here in Ca? Thanks.

THE NUMBERS ON THE BUCKET ARE THE RECYCLING CODE! NOTHING MORE! there is a 2 on my bottle of laundry soap but i wouldnt put my rice in it. the number denotes the strength of the plastic. what matters is the finishing coat sprayed in and on the bucket by the factory. either buy them when they are sold as food grade buckets or make real nice with all the donut shops and candy stores and restaurants they usually give them away, especially if you do business there.
