@Del87beatle I agree, I think Satriani gets way more credit than he deserves

@MrGoldencola I get it, I'm just saying the bassist playing a G over a G chord makes for a boring composition. That's all. It's just not my style and that isn't really prominent in band's I've been in or in music I listen to
MrGoldencola (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@LemonCrushMusic i guess you are saying that because you think its boring, but what if someone said "i dont like it when guitarists play chords" or "when guitarists play lead" its just part of the song, and however the bassist wants to play he should play, but especially in a three piece band like this or a place where the guitarist isnt playing the chords, somebody has to play the chords (also please dont take it that im angry, im just conversing)

@LemonCrushMusic Bassist play roots because thats how the music was written. I know plenty of rock where there are inversions and the bass plays a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd inversion. but it is common in POP rock that the bass plays only roots
Del87beatle (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Paul Gilbert music is always creative anf fun ... I can't say the same about Joe Satriani albums
LemonCrushMusic (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@MrGoldencola If you are okay with having a shitty bassist. Only in rock music does a bassist only play the roots the guitarist is playing..
MrGoldencola (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@LemonCrushMusic isnt playing roots the bassist job,
