http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk... And see the original video here: http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk... A step by step video on how to plant a country hedge. This is the way to plant a country style hedge using deciduous plants such as hawthorn, hazel, blackthorn (sloe), wild roses like dog or field rose, dogwood and field maple - all the classic country hedging plants. This will work for both mixed and single species hedges. If you want to see a video on planting a formal, garden style hedge, we have one on that too: http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk...

I agree - I just strim them down and whack the fabric over them. The exception is with brambles (blackberrys) - these are tough as anything and will lift up the fabric in time. I once put a big, thick iron sheet over a bunch of them and they were still there, pale but still definitely kicking and striving for an exit when I moved the sheet over two years later.

Nice video, and greetings from the U.S. I reckon the chemical herbicide could be avoided by laying out the weed fabric further in advance of planting.

Very nicely put together. A photo of the hedge 5 years on at the end would be a nice addition!
