I never invested in stocks before. I think I would need someone to teach me the basic rules of trading and where to invest also. What advice could you give me.

I have a finance degree and refused to work as a broker. I interned at one that had turnover friday. If the customer held something, they would try to get them to sell it and to buy something new (just like you said). The industry is corrupt. Consumers need to learn how to do it themselves or else they will be taken advantage of.
